  • Well-textured overall and with lovely tempered sweetness—a big whiskey but one that carries its proof well.

  • The nose is pleasantly reminiscent of a pile of leaves drying in the sun, with notes of pinecone, cedar, nutmeg, clove, red apple and dark cherry.

  • There was a unique peach note throughout that made this one really interesting. With a decadent nose, rich palate, and a long finish, B522 is one of my favorite Larceny Barrel Proof releases I’ve tried.

  • It’s a nice variation for the brand, balancing expectation and familiarity with new and exciting flavors. Those who appreciate a cinnamon focus and a bit more heat and intensity will appreciate it most.

  • Overall, this is easily the best Larceny Barrel Proof I've had in some time, perhaps ever. A great blend of sweetness, baking spice, oak and a pleasant dash of cinnamon that adds depth but never goes too far.

  • Nose:

Intense maple, honey, caramelized sugar and a light touch of oak. Sweet, inviting, there's no shortage of character on the nose.

  • Taste:

Big and rich, it's viscous on the palate. The ABV delivers a chewy, satisfying mouthfeel that's packed full of caramel, honey, brown sugar, a touch of chocolate covered cherries, light baking spice and a faint touch of cinnamon.

  • Finish:

Long finish, this is where this batch shines. Caramel, brown sugar, a bit of coffee, clove, sweet oak, a dash of cinnamon and rich cherries. Satisfying, it's complex and hangs for some time.

  • Overall:

Overall, this is easily the best Larceny Barrel Proof I've had in some time, perhaps ever. A great blend of sweetness, baking spice, oak and a pleasant dash of cinnamon that adds depth but never goes too far.
