Derrumbes Guerrero is a joven mezcal made by maestro mezcalero Israel Ríos Bucio in Coyuca de Catalán, Guerrero. It uses wild Agave cupreata, known locally as Penca Ancha, which is cooked in an underground pit oven with white oak, mechanically milled, fermented with wild yeast and double distilled in a still made from a higuera tree trunk over a copper pot. It is bottled at 45% ABV and sells for around $95 to $115 in the U.S.
