Ultramundo Maguey Lamparillo is a joven mezcal made in Durango, Mexico from 100% wild Lamparillo agave grown on the brand's Pelayo Ranch. The agave is roasted in an underground volcanic stone pit oven, fermented with wild yeast in open-air oak-lined wells and distilled twice in a wood-fired copper pot still. It is bottled at 48% ABV and sells for around $150.

  • The mezcal is extremely green peppery on both the nose and palate. It’s earthy and vegetal with hints of berries and red fruits, a touch of banana bread, and some brown sugar and spice.
