Onyx & Amber Owl of Oz is a blended straight bourbon made in Denver, Colorado from sourced whiskey. It combines 7.5 year old bourbon from O.Z. Tyler, now known as Green River Distilling Co., with 8 to 12 year old bourbon from Ross & Squibb Distillery, also known as MGP. The blend was created by guest blender Ryan Negley, bottled at 120.6 proof (60.3% ABV), and sells for around $94.99 per 700mL.
The palate starts big, with a strong momentum of cornbread, raspberry, fig, vanilla, and pomegranate molasses. From there, the finish begins to taper, losing a degree of intensity, which allows more flavor to ultimately come out.
