  • This isn’t bad, but it doesnt step too far from the Beer vibe of Athletic, which probably isn’t what someone buying a product marketed as a “Paloma” is expecting.

  • Nose:

Honestly? Smells way more like a beer than a Paloma on the nose.

  • Taste:

Very bitter; loads of grapefruit peel plus cilantro.

  • Finish:

The finish leans juicier and less bitter — watered down grapefruit juice, mostly.

  • Overall:

I can see why they went with a Paloma; Grapefruit is a common vibe in IPAs, and so it feels natural. However, this reads more like a Bitter IPA that tastes grapefruit-y than it does an actual paloma. This isn’t bad, but it doesnt step too far from the Beer vibe of Athletic, which probably isn’t what someone buying a product marketed as a “Paloma” is expecting.
