The nose is rich and elegant. Big time vanilla bean and crème bruléee lead the way, backed by plenty of fruit — apricot, apple pie, Luxardo cherry — subtle spice — cinnamon, candied ginger and clove.
The mouthfeel is drying and tannic and, quite satisfyingly, gains viscosity the more you chew on it. It's very sweet to open the palate — toasted marshmallow, brûléed brown sugar and even a bit of cotton candy. It then transitions into a fruity profile — mostly apricot, plus candied orange and a cinnamon-laced apple bake vibe on the back palate.
The finish is long and oaky, beginning with sweet butterscotch and caramel. Next, that lovely apricot and apple profile from the palate returns, joined by spice — plenty of cinnamon, plus a bit of ginger and clove. From there, it introduces a lovely toasted almond note, which is where it settles. Oak hangs around throughout.
An incredible release from Four Roses that expertly balances bright fruits with decadent dessert and dry oak. It feels like an elevated version of a delicious classic Kentucky bourbon. Thoroughly enjoyable from nose to finish, and a clear-cut contender for the best bourbon of 2026.
