Stetson Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon blended and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky by Master Blender Dan Callaway. It combines high-rye barrels from Green River Distilling Co. and Bardstown Bourbon Company, averaged to approximately seven years of age, in American oak barrels charred at a level three to four. It is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) and retails for around $70-$75.

  • On the palate, almond flavors give way to a rather hot and brawny but long caramel finish that dries to a pleasingly leathery tone.

  • There’s also some Irish whiskey-like banana character in the mid-palate, with a corn chip kicker on the finish. Stetson comes across as young Bourbon, but one with a bit of pedigree. Both the rye and wheat character come through, which is quite a delight.
