Lysholm Linie Aquavit is a Norwegian spirit made from potatoes and flavored with caraway, anise, dill, fennel and coriander. It is aged in Spanish oloroso sherry casks during a unique four-month sea voyage from Norway to Australia and back, crossing the equator twice. The spirit is bottled at 41.5% ABV and typically sells for around $35.
The body is milder than you might expect, a lighter take on licorice with a strong caraway flavor. The sherry casks provide some sweetness (as does the caramel, I believe), but not a whole lot. This is still a moderately bitter spirit best experienced as a digestif.
