Colorado’s Lee Spirits Co., a distillery celebrated for its diverse range of gin, vodka and liqueurs, recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, The Street reported on Tuesday. The company, which had been operating for over a decade, cited challenges stemming from the prolonged impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the shifting dynamics within the spirits industry.
Lee Spirits Co.’s decision to cease operations, including its popular Colorado Springs tasting room, Brooklyn’s on Boulder Street, came as a blow to loyal patrons and industry observers alike. Despite its dedication to crafting high-quality spirits, the company found itself unable to navigate the challenges posed by the pandemic and the evolving market landscape.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news. After a decade of dedicated service to the Colorado community, Lee Spirits Company, alongside our beloved tasting room, Brooklyn’s on Boulder Street, will be ceasing operations effectively immediately,” Lee Spirits said in a statement on its website.
“Founded over 10 years ago, Lee Spirits Company has been an incredible source of pride. We’ve poured our passion into crafting premium gin, vodka, and liqueurs, aiming to elevate your gatherings and celebrations.”
“Brooklyn’s on Boulder Street, once a beacon of Colorado Springs’ cocktail scene, stood as a testament to our commitment to creating memorable experiences. However, despite our best efforts, the prolonged impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ever-changing industry landscape presented challenges we simply couldn’t overcome.”
The distillery specialized in producing a range of spirits, including its acclaimed six-times-distilled vodka and various gin varieties such as Lavender and Strawberry Ginger. We were particularly fond of the brand’s Navy Strength and American Dry expressions, which both received glowing reviews from our chief spirits critic.
“We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our loyal customers, our dedicated employees, and the entire Colorado community,” Lee Spirits continued in the statement. “Your unwavering support has meant everything to us throughout this incredible journey.”
“To our exceptional employees, your hard work and dedication have been the driving force behind our successes. We cannot thank you enough for your unwavering commitment to excellence.”
“While we bid farewell to a decade of cherished memories, we do so with incredible gratitude. The legacy of Lee Spirits Company will endure, and we hope to continue sharing our passion for craft spirits with you in new ways in the future.”
“Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your unwavering support and understanding.”
