Perrier-Jouët has been named the first official Champagne partner of the Metropolitan Opera as part of a new five-year agreement aimed at expanding hospitality offerings at the venue, the brand announced Wednesday.
The partnership introduces a range of Champagne-focused experiences at the opera house, from redesigned bar spaces to premium in-seat service, beginning with the current season.
“We are proud to keep Perrier-Jouët’s centuries of dedication to artistic collaboration and wine-making alive by aligning with partners who share our vision for honoring heritage while leading the future for arts,” Pernod Ricard USA Vice President of Aged Spirits & Prestige Brand Portfolio Kristen Colonna said in a news release. “As a landmark of art and culture both in the US and globally, the Metropolitan Opera is the perfect collaborator to help us bring the wonder of Perrier-Jouët Champagne and its deep roots in nature, art and craftsmanship from our vineyards to the hearts and minds of opera house patrons.”
As part of the rollout, the Met’s Orchestra Bar has been redesigned with visual elements inspired by Perrier-Jouët’s signature anemone motif. Additional offerings include pre-ordered Champagne service at multiple bars inside the venue and expanded premium options tied to VIP seating areas.
The partnership also extends to programming for younger patrons through the Met’s Young Associates initiative, which focuses on audiences ages 21 to 45 with events such as pre-show receptions and backstage access.
“We are delighted to welcome Perrier-Jouët as the Official Champagne of the Metropolitan Opera,” said Gilly Brierley, assistant general manager of marketing and communications at the Met. “Our organizations share a deep-rooted commitment to artistry, craftsmanship, and creating unforgettable experiences. This partnership enhances the magic of an evening at the Met, offering audiences an elevated way to celebrate the performing arts.”
The Metropolitan Opera stages more than 200 performances each season and draws more than 650,000 attendees annually, making it one of the largest performing arts organizations in the United States.
Perrier-Jouët, founded in 1811, is part of the Pernod Ricard portfolio and has a long history of collaborations tied to art and design.
