Chartreuse 1605 Liqueur d'Elixir is a special-edition herbal liqueur produced by Carthusian monks at the Grande Chartreuse Monastery. Released in 2005 to mark the 400th anniversary of the manuscript received in 1605, the liqueur follows the early formula for an “elixir of life” made with more than 130 herbs, plants and flowers. It is bottled at 56% ABV and typically sells for around $180–$200.
