Angel's Envy Cellar Collection Tawny Port Finish is a limited edition Kentucky straight bourbon made at Angel's Envy Distillery in Louisville. It is aged 10 years and then finished for 10 months in tawny port wine barrels from Portugal. It is bottled at 55.8% ABV and priced at $250.
This was a fun one. The initial nose was all booze, but once the senses settled, I picked up the fruit elements. Tasting it is definitely an experience. There’s a lot of things going on.
I didn’t get the opportunity to taste the first oloroso sherry-finished Cellar Collection last year, but I’m told there are more bottles available in this release. That’s a good thing because it’s certainly worth picking up if you’re lucky enough to find it on the shelf.
