Antipodes Gin Company has emerged as the inaugural distillery in Australia to attain “Certified Sustainable” status. This title, administered by Certified Sustainable, serves as a recognition of Antipodes Gin’s commitment to environmental stewardship, socially responsible practices and sustainable production methods.

“To be acknowledged as Australia’s foremost ‘Certified Sustainable’ distillery is truly gratifying,” said Antipodes Gin Company Co-Founder Rory Gration, according to Mirage News.

“Our team’s persistent efforts and dedication to sustainability have culminated in this significant achievement. We are driven by a belief in effecting positive change for our planet and community.”

“This recognition fuels our ongoing commitment and serves as an inspiration for others within the industry to embark on this crucial journey.”

According to the report, Antipodes Gin’s holistic approach to sustainability encompasses numerous aspects of its operations, from sourcing organic ingredients to implementing energy-efficient distillation processes. The company also utilizes recyclable packaging and has contributed significantly to reforestation by planting over 11,800 trees.

While Antipodes Gin is Australia’s first distillery to receive the “Certified Sustainable” distinction, many other gin producers in the country have also continuously implemented eco-friendly practices. For instance, Four Pillars was the first gin distillery in Australia to achieve carbon-neutral status for its efforts. Meanwhile, Cape Byron Distillery, producer of Brookie’s Gin, has been named a B Corporation-certified business.
