English spirit producer Brockmans Gin has attained B Corp status. As reported by The Spirits Business on Wednesday, the brand, having been certified as carbon neutral since 2020, sees this accreditation as a “natural step” in its ongoing pursuit of sustainability.
“It’s not just about making fantastic gin; it’s about doing it in a way that’s good for both the planet and people,” Brockmans Founder Neil Everitt shared.
“The B Corp values also form the bedrock of Brockmans’ ‘Properly Improper’ philosophy, influencing every aspect of our brand and our belief in doing things properly; acting with integrity, authenticity and excellence.”
“We recognise our duty to shape a brighter future, not only for the next generation but also for our team, suppliers, customers, shareholders, and the wider community as well.”
According to the report, Brockmans achieved an overall B Corp score of 80, surpassing the current median score of 50.9 points for businesses that undergo the assessment.
B Corp Certification entails a rigorous assessment of a company’s commitment to social and environmental responsibility, transparency and accountability. The evaluation encompasses factors like fair labor practices, environmental sustainability and community engagement. The certification signifies a company’s dedication to responsible business practices, emphasizing a positive impact beyond profit.
