Released in November, this is 2025's annual release of Garrison Brothers Cowboy, a highly coveted cask-strength bourbon out of the Hye, Texas distillery. Thanks to the Texan Hill Country climate, Cowboy is always high-proof, and that's especially true in 2025. This version is bottled at 146.4 proof — well beyond that 70% "Hazmat" mark so many bourbon fans go crazy for.

Aged at least eight years, Garrison Brothers Cowboy 2025 has a suggested retail price of $249.99.

  • Nose:

Shredded wheat, Vanilla, sea salt, buttered rolls, cinnamon rolls, bright cherry, raspberry, apple pie.

  • Taste:

Wonderful thick viscosity. Dry and hot on the palate but quite sweet in flavor. Stewed cherries and plums, lots of leather, malted milk balls, frosting, big sugar cookies note, butterscotch, tobacco, tea.

  • Finish:

Long finish that just keeps on going, with a good deal of heat. Butterscotch, leather, cinnamon, root beer, lemon peel, spiced apple cider, chamomile.

  • Overall:

It’s damn hot, but if you’re a fan of high-proof bourbon, this is worth seeking out. It’s big, brash and hot, and the profile balances dark and light-sweet notes that come together for a well balanced expression. This may be the best liquid I’ve ever tasted out of Garrison. Splendid stuff.
