Society De La Rassi Neue Brut Sparkling Chardonnay is a gently dealcoholized La Mancha Chardonnay containing 0.5% ABV. Ingredients include dealcoholized wine, grape must, acacia and carbon dioxide. The 2024 vintage retails for $59 per bottle.
There’s a slight apple cider vinegar note present throughout that stands in for the alcohol — common in NA wines — but it’s not unpleasant, imparting a gentle tang that otherwise distracts you from the lack of booziness. Well done!
It essentially creates the Chateau feel I love! I think this belongs in the right class of wines with a higher price tag and is worth pouring for special occasion or just a vibey brunch, despite the eye-watering price tag.
