On Wednesday, Diageo India added two expressions to its Tanqueray gin repertoire: Tanqueray Rangpur and Tanqueray Malacca. Perfectly timed for the holiday season, these variants aim to cater to the discerning tastes of gin enthusiasts seeking unique and diverse flavor profiles, the brand shared in a press release.
While brand new to India, Tanqueray Rangpur and Tanqueray Malacca have been available in other markets for some time. Since their debuts in 2006 and 1997, respectively, imbibers in the U.K. and U.S. can find these gins for about $30 each.
Tanqueray Rangpur spotlights the Rangpur lime, a hybrid citrus variety boasting aromatic qualities and a subtle bitterness. Bay leaf and ginger join this key ingredient, resulting in a “refreshing concoction with sweet undertones,” per the brand.
Meanwhile, Tanqueray Malacca pays homage to its namesake city in Malaysia. Starting with a base of Tanqueray’s flagship London dry, this variant is made with the addition of peppercorn, clove, ginger root, cardamom and rose. According to the press release, the spiced gin offers a “smooth and rich profile.”

Both Tanqueray Rangpur and Tanqueray Malacca are priced at INR 3,150 in Maharashtra, INR 3,250 in Goa and INR 2,000 in Haryana.
