  • Nose:

Vanilla, cool mint and a touch of juicy apple.

  • Taste:

Made on the strong setting on my Bartesian, this is a nicely balanced cocktail! Bourbon leads, backed up by spearmint and cane sugar. It's sweet but far from overbearingly so. A bit of rye spice is here as well, presumably from the bourbon.

  • Finish:

Pepperminty finish with a big of sugary sweetness and chocolate shavings.

  • Overall:

Quite a nice julep! It's balanced and refreshing. The mint doesn't come across as fresh mint from the garden or anything like that, but it also doesn't taste too artificial. Enjoy this around Derby time or just during the hot months of summer as a refreshing, stiff cocktail.
