Clean Co Clean G is a non-alcoholic gin alternative designed to be mixed. It contains natural flavorings, including juniper, angelica root, coriander, lemon, orange, grapefruit, rosemary and lavender. A bottle retails for about $29.99.
There is a bit of prickly heat akin to mild ginger, but the overall effect is of a tonic than a gin. Still, it is tasty and will work well on its own as a N/A Martini if well chilled.
What’s missing here completely is juniper, which is the essential part of the gin puzzle and which doesn’t ever make an appearance. It actually mixes OK with sparkling mixers and isn’t even terrible in a negroni, but you are well advised to avoid trying to make a martini out of it.
